total petroleum puerto rico corp. inicia su alianza con “para la naturaleza”

Total Petroleum Puerto Rico Corp. started a new philanthropic alliance with "Para la Naturaleza", a private and non-profit unit of the Conservation Trust of Puerto Rico. As part of the commitment to social responsibility towards environmental sustainability, Total made a $10,000 donation that is being used in initiatives carried out to increase the percentage of protected lands in Puerto Rico, such as the “Para la Naturaleza” Fair, which took place on April 18 and had about 5,000 attendees who learned about the importance of conserving our lands and received native trees to plant and care for them in their homes.  As a partner of this organization, not only is Total financially supporting it, but it is also involving its employees. On April 25th the company carried out the first of several volunteer activities involving more than 50 employees and their families at Cabezas de San Juan Nature Reserve in Fajardo.  There they helped reduce waste that impacts a variety of ecosystems, including mangroves, coral reefs, a beach, a dry forest and one of the most extraordinary bioluminescent lagoons in the world. They also had the opportunity to work in an archaeological laboratory, helping to advance the excavation and processing of found materials. The work turned out to be extremely positive not only to protect places such as Cabezas de San Juan, but also to enjoy everything that this natural reserve offers.
